Acountenancefortheresidence
A listing page may speak from a talk button, or from a photograph given a face. Either way, the intelligence is the same. The presence is not.
A voice without a face is still a voice
Every Voaize page can be addressed. The buyer taps to speak, or they write. Nothing in that exchange requires a portrait. For many galleries, a quiet talk control is the more civilised object: it does not compete with the model, and it does not pretend the house has a person inside it.
There are rooms, however, in which a countenance helps. A show flat after hours. A sales table with no associate free. A first scan by someone who is not yet sure the square on the door card does anything at all. A photograph of the residence - or of a considered face you choose to stand for it - can make the invitation unmistakable.
The 2D character is optional theatre
Upload a still. Turn the character on, and the page overlays a mouth and eyes so the image appears to speak as it answers. Turn it off, and the same still remains a photograph beside a talk button. The dossier does not change. The brand voice does not change. Only the presence does.
This is not an avatar of an associate, and it is not a call centre with a face attached. It is a listing given a countenance for the minute or two the buyer is willing to inquire. When they stop speaking, the session goes quiet. The house does not loiter.
Choose a still that can bear being looked at
The photograph will be regarded at arm’s length, on a telephone, in a room that already has architecture in it. A muddy wide shot of the façade will look like a banner ad. A considered crop - the kitchen island, the terrace rail, a portrait that matches the tone of the prospectus - will look like part of the listing.
If you would not print the still in the brochure, do not put it on the page that speaks. The character is only as civilised as the image you lend it.
Do not let the face outrun the files
A talking photograph that invents a spec is worse than a silent button. The countenance is theatre; the dossier is the contract. Guardrails, brand voice, and the files you uploaded still govern every sentence.
If the gallery has a rule against certain claims - views that are not yet there, finishes that are options, dates that have slipped - write those rules down. A face will not save you from a sentence the floor cannot defend.
Presence, then disappearance
The buyer came to look at a residence, not to keep a companion. The character should make the first question easier to ask, then recede. Sessions end when no one is speaking or typing. That is courtesy, not a limitation.
Use the face where the room is empty. Use the button where the architecture is already doing the talking. In both cases, the listing is the same listing, and the mark on the door is the same mark.
